GMA Network for sale at P100 billion - Gozon

Yahoo posted this news a while ago that GMA is now for same for P100 billion.

"MANILA, Philippines - The three major owners of broadcast company GMA Network will sell their stakes to a buyer that will offer P100 billion for 100 percent of the company.

“I will sell for P100 billion, and this includes the 23 percent held by the public. At P100 billion, I will sign with my eyes closed,” GMA chairman and CEO Felipe Gozon said.

According to Gozon, more than one conglomerate has offered to acquire GMA and one of them is the group of Manuel V. Pangilinan, which owns rival TV 5. There were earlier reports that Pangilinanhad offered P40 to P45 billion for a 100-percent stake in GMA.

Gozon said that at the moment, they have not received an “acceptable” offer. “If we receive an acceptable offer, then we will sell our entire stake in the company,” he added. The 77-percent stake not held by the public is owned by Gozon, the Duavits and the Jimenezes.

As to what is an acceptable offer, Gozon said “price is the start of everything.”

Sometime in 2001, Pangilinan’s group offered around P48 billion for 100 percent of GMA 7. GMA president and COO Gilberto Duavit Jr. said the talks between them and Pangilinan did not materialize because the PLDT group had to prioritize the financial needs of Piltel.

Gozon said yesterday that a second company apart from the PLDT group has expressed interest in buying into the broadcast firm. He however refused to divulge the identity of the company.

“There were others who expressed interest. Of course, Filipino conglomerate. GMA is very attractive and desirable not only to MVP,” Gozon said, referring to Pangilinan.

“It’s always the price,” Gozon said in trying to explain why the PLDT group’s acquisition bid has failed to prosper.

Gozon’s statement comes in the wake of a statement attributed to San Miguel Corp. (SMC) chief executive officer Ramon Ang that GMA Network’s owners are his friends and that they would not sell to the PLDT group.

He also clarified that there are no negotiations at the moment with any group although Gozon said that Pangilinan has expressed his interest a long time ago but “he never lost interest.”

“The first transaction did not push through but his interest remained. But the company remains very attractive and desirable not only to MVP. There were others that expressed interest,” he said.

As this developed, the company announced that net income for the first quarter of 2012 reached P388 million, down 27 percent, which officials said is a strong start from a lukewarm closing in 2011 but lower than last year’s P534 million.

Consolidated revenues for the first three months of the year dropped four percent to P3.002 billion from P3.138 billion in the same period last year. Earnings before interests, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) was down 18 percent to P760 million.

Officials however expect the numbers to pick up in the succeeding quarters.

Capital expenditure for 2012 has been set at P679 million of which P183 million has been spent. Of the remaining amount, around P150 million will be used for the construction and equipping of two new regional stations in Ilocos Sur and in Naga, while another P100 million will be for the further upgrade of transmitter networks in rural areas.

“We are moving towards the rural areas and increasing our reach in Northern Mindanao and portions of the Visayas. We acknowledge that ABS-CBN is ahead in terms of the rural areas but they were 10 years ahead. If you look at the Philtam (total nationwide), the difference is a lot more encouraging than we expected. It is not an insurmoubtable difference. We are looking at winning even in rural areas this year,” Duavit said.

Gozon said he expects revenues for the whole of 2012 to reach P14 billion while net income is forecast at P2.8 billion.

“The first quarter result is what we call bumubuwelo or pumuposisyon. As I speak now, our gross airtime sale for channel 7 is almost P1 billion already. That gives us the confidence that we are on the right track,” he said.

He pointed out that as early as last February, they had captured 85 percent of their sales projection for the entire year.

Gozon also expects advertising spend to improve this year. “I just attended the presentations of Coca-Cola, Unilever, P&G. Their top executives came here. From our conversations, they told me that they are expecting Asian countries including the Philippines to propel their revenues, Considering that Europe still has this debt crisis problem which they have not surmounted, and the US will have their presidential election and their unemployment problem has not been resolved, these giant multinationals are looking at this part of the world to compensate for the growth they are expecting this year,” he added. - By Mary Ann Ll. The Family

Its 11:35 in the evening and I'm still awake. Modifying the plan na pinapagawa ni Dad. By the way Dad is my latest client. Mabait , masungit at may pusong "tatay" talaga ang taong yan. He's an Ausi o Australyano. May Current project kami sa kanya na di matapos tapos. The team which we called "the family" is developing multiple sites that will generate an income. Unfortunately lagi lang kaming nag rerevise sa lahat. Marami kasing mga issue eh. Una gusto agad ni dadi na makuha agad yung ROI nya which is mahirap sa sitwasyun namin. 2nd Para sakin yung site is plain lang, wala akong nakikitang makapag gegenerate ng income kasi when i try to hit the ads on it eh di naman gumagana. Mga larawan lang pala ang mga yun at nagmimistulang decoration.

Sa ngayon wala pa akong masyadong ginagawa bilang SEO sa group kasi wala pa namang sinasabi ang PM namin na mag start na kami sa plan namin. Mababait naman ang mga kasama ko at magagaling. Meron lang akong di makasundo dun. Isang taong magaling pero ganun naman kapangit ang ugali. Ginagawa niyang BIG DEAL ang iilang bagay na pwede naman ma solusyonan. "Perfectionist" kung baga. Eh di naman lahat perfect. Wala rin siyang kwentang kausap kasi di marunong rumespeto ng kapwa. Mahilig siyang mag underestemate ng kapwa nya katrabaho. Well, yun siya eh. Ugali nya yun. Buti nalang na solusyonan agad yun ni dadi. Mabait tlaga si dadi sakin. ^_^

Sa ngayun nag hihintay nalang ako na may matapos na site para optimized ko. Sana lang di na mag bug down ang site at mag number 1 na tong site namin para yung iba nman ang mag focus. Kasi nakakapagud ding e SEO ang site namin, Ang tataas ng competition sa keyword. Pero walang magawa si dadi naman namili dun eh.

Share ko lang

This past few days are a bit a boring days for me. Walang magandang magandang nangyari at pabalik balik lang ang mga ito. Nagsisimula narin akong madiscourage sa current job ko dahil sa iilang company issues na di ko nagustohan. Although meron kaming pagkukulang though sana lang din ay naisip din nila pagkukulang nila. Pero di namin mapipigilan kung anu man ang magiging decision ng company, were just an employee kaya YES nlang sa kung anu man ang mga pagbabagong gawin nila. The only constant in this world is changes ika nga kaya I think kami nalang ang mag aadjust whatever changes they do.

Ganun paman may mga bagay-bagay din na nakakapag pa inspire sa atin kung baga. Makakapag papalakas ng ating loob kahit paman na sa tingin natin ay parang its too late na or its the end na. May mga na realize din akong iilang mga bagay sa panahon na para bang nahihirapan akong bumangon at bumawi mula sa problema. Pero di naman parin ako sumusuko, there is still hope if we just believe. Kaya kahit anu man yan, go lang ng go! text lang ng text!. hehehe Joke lang!  Wala nman cgurong binigay si lord na pag subok na di natin kaya. Of course we can do it. Lord knows everything kaya alam nyang kaya natin lahat ng pagsubok na ibibigay nya. We just have to keep the faith in Him.

Kaya nga nagpapasalamat parin ako sa kanya maginhawa man ang kalagayan o gipit. Kasi nman I am still blessed, sa dinami dami pa nman ng blessings na binigay nya na dapat kung ipagpasalamat araw-araw. Sa trabaho ko, though feels like hell pag nasa office ako, pero feels like heaven nman pag araw na ng sahod namin. At although its not enough to acquire all my needs through my salary  nadi nman gaano kalaki, eh, di pa nman ako naabutan ng gutom. Kaya blessed parin hehehehe:).

Sana lang ay mas gaganda pa buhay ko kesa sa ngayun ayoko namang laging "feels like heel at heaven" gusto ko nman me energy at happiness ang environment para nman always heaven at the same time di ka papangit sa trabaho mo. Malayo ka sa stress at di ka konsumido everyday. Kaya as of now I'm looking for a better job na magiging happy ako. Remember that we deserve better, kaya pag di ka happy well, let go! pero pag alanganin wag na muna "ang mag antos mahimong santos" hehehe mag suffer kana muna and the sun will rise for you soon. hehehe.. okay so sa tingin ko i talked to much na. Kaya hanggang dito nalang muna sa ngaun at sa bumabasa ngayun nito lagi mong tatandaan na HINDI PA TAYO TAPOS.  hehehe :) <3 God bless sayo!

Untitled - Sulat ng mga walang magawa sa buhay

It’s been so boring since these past few days. There’s no party or outing trip that could help to ease the stress “nakakabagot na mga araw”. I'm still doing nonstop work from morning to evening and have a very least time bonding with friends “ganito na ba talaga pag working guy na?, tatanda yata ako nito ng maaga ah”. Almost every Saturday I stayed at my boarding house surfing the internet.  There is no difference to what I am doing during weekdays. I usually do twitting and sharing whatever I like to share on facebook. But I spent most of my time on twitter because I enjoy it more than facebook “lagi kasing nakikita si crush, lol”.  I received  numerous mentions from different friends on twitter almost everyday. We share greetings, thoughts, photos and whatever we want to share.  There are also new followers who followed me almost every day. I only use facebook if several friends are online.  There are times that online friends play an important role because at times they are the one comforting you when you are cheerless especially when you can’t express it to your close friends.  

On the other hand, last night I chatted my only buddy on facebook .His name is Jeric, although I didn’t know him for so long all I can say is his charming and thoughtful.  At the same time, I also twitted a friend on twitter. His name is Jazz, I have no comment about him. I asked a poem to both of them last night to post on my blog since I don’t have any idea what to post. Both of them promised to email me the poem today.   “Excited na ako, sana about friendship yun para maka relate naman ako kahit papano”

Its 11:45 in the morning and I am done with my tasks “kaya eto, kung anu-anu nalang ang naiisip, as usual wala paring aircon ang office buti nalang at di masyadong mainit. Thanks to the only bentelador beside me, lol” All of them are busy doing their respective tasks. Maybe that’s all I can share for today. Boring but it’s alright.

Stressful Day

 Today I was so stressed; it started this morning when I was on my duty. I felt so sleepy and tired. I want to take a nap but I couldn’t because I’m still inside the office. After that very tiring job I went home to do another tasks and to entertained a new client handled by my relative but unfortunately she give up because the task is very difficult for her. She's just new to this kind of job although I trained her for almost an hour so she gives it to another friend who she believes could do it. Then when I started to do my tasks for my personal client which is my priority, my other client as well as a friend of mine started to communicate me at the same time. I almost give up because I almost can't handle the pressure,    "nag simula ng uminit at sumakit ang ulo ko na para bang sasabog na" I couldn't do my personal tasks while chatting to the person online "sobrang dami pang tanung at kung anu-anu pa, tapos me nagtatanung na naman sa tagiliran ko, tapos me magchat na naman, para na akong maloloka pag nagpatuloy yun"    but I tried to stay calm and stay focus on doing the tasks while communicating the two persons.

I played an RNB songs to help me stay calm   "thanks sa mga songs ni lady gaga at rihanna,yeng nakatulong talaga sila para ma control ko ang init ng ulo ko at para maging masaya parin sa kabila ng lahat ng pressure na kinakaharap"   After a while things became smother, we finished both tasks after that.  " thanks din sa tumulong na kapwa ko VA. Malaki talaga naitulong niya at sa kay Dean na super bait at matiyagang naghintay kahit late na ang update namin." 


After that I waited for few hours because my  client wants to have a conference call. Although its really hard for me to do it because my head is started to ached I still answered the call. " Ayun! at nag simula na kaming mag englisan" Tiny drops of blood started to came out from my nose,eyes and ears lol. "Kahit na di na halos maka smile nasagot ko rin naman ng tama ang mga tanong. Its just a matter of self control kasi, muscle control at kung anu-anu pang control na maisip ko para lang maging maayos ang sitwasyon kahit na parang hindi na talaga kaya"  but good thing I survived no retreat no surrender yata ako. Through it all just stand up lang.

Anyway, so if you want to get rid of stress try to listen RNB music, think of happy thoughts, deep breath and always remember that you can do it without hurting other people around you. Di natin dapat pagbuntunan ang mga taong nasa paligid natin kasi at the end tayo parin naman ang may kasalanan. Let's just spread the love nalang even in times na parang nauubos na pasensya natin. We never know baka me blessing tayo after that. Its a good practice din naman if we learn how to control our temper and a discipline narin to ourself.

Not so busy today so i got a chance to browse my facebook to see if there are new updates and when I saw one I try it right away. It prompts me to answer few questions and after answering those questions this result came out.

Mix emotions

I was so glad this morning because the software was fixed but another bad news came out. We have no glass at all in the office and i don't know why they pull out all the glasses. I cant imagine myself going in and out to the office bringing a glass. This is not fair anymore.

On the other hand I am so worried about my linking because there's an issue about providing a quality links. Well, I guess I have to focus more on relevancy than quantity. My employer wants a quality links rather than spamming. I hope I could get a contract soon with my employer so that I will have a stable job online.

I also misses all my friends every time I hear the  song "life goes on" it makes me cry because of all the happy moments that we had and now were distance apart striving hard for our own good but we still care for each other. Although its maybe impossible but many of us still hoping for that one day we become one happy family again. Missing the I.T. Musical -_-..

Nothing special today same as usual I'm still busy with my career. Non stop working from Morning to evening. Today one of my friend celebrate the end of thier final defence. Together with us we celeberate it through a dinner and a drinking session. We shared thoughts and laughter and I'm also trying to escape with that session because I feel i'm gonna vomit if i drink to much tanduay ice. I'm also checking my facebook and twitter at the same time to see if there are new notification from facebook and new mentions from twitter and as expected i only saw few mentions and notifications. Well, maybe it happened because i only shared few post and have few twits since i begun my homebased job. Although I'm busy tired and stress I'm still happy because i got an extra income for my parents. Then saturday became my favorite day because saturday is my payday. I earn P____  every week good enough for me, but i hope it will increase soon. Thanks to my team.
